(42355) Typhon is a scattered disc object with perihelion around Uranus orbit and an aphelion at the beginning of the SDO range (17.5-58.8 AU). It was discovered in February of 2002 and named in November of 2006. It has a diameter of about 135 km. A large moon was identified in 2006 and named Echidna (about 80 km). There is a prediscovey image back to December of 1989.
The symbolism of the serpent, which rolls around and waits until the prey eject air to continue compressing until is asphyxiated, is combined with the symbolism of hot sand storms and earthquakes.
