Astrology of: Shuttle return held for 24 hours
I have been watching this Space Shuttle Discovery very expensive saga, ever since they decided to go up there when Mercury was retrograde. I know that a while back NASA used to consult Astrologers. But I get this feeling that somehow they would scoff at Astrologers nowadays. Weirdos they would call us. Well weird as it seems to them, Mercury retrograde really gave them, and a lot of other travelling folks, tough times. Even for the most die-hard cynic, just look at the number of travel accidents, when Mercury appeared to be going backwards to us folk on Earth.
But to confound the problem, there were a few other things going on today, and during those very sensitive hours this morning, that confused The Command Center in Houston, as it was trying to decide, whether a cloud cover of less that 8000 feet signifies problems. I am fortunate to have a live link via satellite to the see every expression and tone of the decision makers, and I could sense what was going on. There are as you would expect certain predefined criteria that an operation like this can go by. At the moment of todays decision, the computers said go, but folks at Houston said no. So computations will give you certain signals, but there is a human factor involved at that moment, that makes the final decision. That's where the Astrology kicks in.
Let's look at where the planets were, and how they might have effected the decision making. Apart from the position of Mercury, we have other factors. Fire up any free astrology software, or go on the net, and put today's date in, and you will see that we have the Sun and Mercury, making an almost exact opposition to Neptune. What does Neptune have to do with anything? Houston was talking about vision, or preception when they made their decision. Did you know that the Astronauts take the helm, and unlike a sophisticated jet airliner's automatic landing system, the Shuttle does not land with a computer guidance system. The cloud cover needs to be above 8000 feet. Buzz Aldrin was saying on Fox just now that somehow the Shuttle does not have the same capability as a jet airliner.
So what we have is back to basic gut feeling flying. What takes care of gut feeling in Astrology? Neptune takes care a lot of that part of human being psychology of Good Faith, Intuition, and Vision. Mercury is involved with the basic logical simple connections we use everyday. The Sun you should know about. But when you have these planets in opposition, you do not get a smooth decision, and you do not have a smooth ride. Confusion reigns. And I could just see live on TV the amount of confusion in Houston. You also have Venus opposite the Uranus. But to put the cherry on the cake, the Moon is zipping over Venus and is making an opposition to Uranus as well. Uranus deals with the more sophisticated forms of communication, like computers.
So it was all a bit too much for this trip. Oh, and what about tomorrow? Would it be better. Not a lot changes, but the Sun will no longer be applying an opposition to Neptune, and it will start its separation from that opposition. The Moon changes positions a lot, it would be no longer making those awkward aspects, and being in Libra (good for comms) and produces good aspects to Saturn and Uranus.
