Split low vote for both Iran's islamists

Two kinds of opposition exist in Iran. Those who are with the so called 'revolution', and want to reform it. Then there are those, that think the whole 'revolution' thing was a bad mistake, is beyond repair and they cry 'boycott' . We then have the two Islamists: like Rafsanjani's rich cronies and Ahmadinejad's moaners on the one side, wanting participation; and secular opposition forces, from the democratic Constitutional Monarchists to the secular Republicans crying out 'boycott'. It is a right confusing mess, isn't it?

And to make matters more confusing, almost all Iranians are new to this whole 'voting thing'. So this whole election thing, was an opportunity to play. It is a bit like a carnival. It really looked that way last Friday. Fourteen year old kids were jumping up and down, with forty year olds, to the dance of funky chicken. It was summer, and hey, why not have a blast and go out and party.

And just like the results in a football match, everyone waited to see what the results were. Biting nail stuff eh? Is our so called more reform minded man, called Moin, going to get in and sort out the die-hards? Well no. Like a bucket of cold water, reality hit. Some prat from southen Teheran, that no one in the revolutionary Iran, had the foggiest about, suddenly came second.

"What?, Ahmadinejad?", "who, and how, do you spell his name in English". It was all very funny and ironical. Here was this young chimp faced mullah baby, suddenly kicking all the heavy weights out of the ring, in a one-two knock out punch. Wow! Cold Turkey set it. Party is over. Back to the drawing board.

Meanwhile all the people who advocated boycott are really amused. They don't know whether to laugh, or cry at the whole spectacle. We read endless commentaries, about the opposition abroad saying; that they are both useless, and that they need to both be ignored. But the losers in the first round; staunchly believing in their so called gone wrong 'revolution', who were given, like prisoners, the chioce between eating the awful food put in front of them, or joining the rest of the anti-revolution crowd, decided that they just 'had to' vote. So many people have jumped ship from this sinking islamic boat for 26 years, but some are still there, plugging the holes, and bailing out the water, saying, there is hope, and we have fixed it. It will float. But the chimp is now screaming, not the taghootis.

But seriously folks, the silent majority did go out last Friday, and did have fun going to the ballot boxes, and facing the defiant faces of the basij, who looked at them like Hitler's youth. That really sobbered them up. So can they be bothered with that harassment, again? Some will. Will we Iranians be able to walk past each other one day, and keep our political, and religious differences private? I do not think so.

I think the vote will be lower, evenly split between the two bad choices, because the Iranian people know of better people to run their country. The Iranians know that they have a third choice, that is just as important as the two awful choices they have been given. And the people know who the good choices are, and they will only vote for them, once a new proper electoral system of Iran is set up, that will find all the right people for the jobs to run the country.

Let's hope that we have a low turnout, that is evenly split between two totally incapable people. That way no one but the silent majority can claim victory. In the mean time Iran will suffer; as more and more talented people will leave it, to go and work abroad, where they will have more dignity and respect as human beings. Religion and politics has destroyed Iran, more than any invasion from the Greeks, the Arabs or the Chinese.

Iranians vote in tight presidential run-off

- Mass Inaction In Iran Will Free Iran
The Islamists' antics are at work: ?If we are unable to be competitive then we will boycott,? said Mossavi-Lari, a senior member of Khatami?s Association of Combative Clerics which will be spearheading the reformist challenge. Remember the last so...

- Unelected President Of Iran Puts Islam Above The Will Of The People
Officially 17,248,782 Iranians out of total 27,959,253 voted for Ahmadinejad. Lest not forget that Iran has close to 50,000,000 eligable voters. So a mere 35% of the people voted for him. What is good though, is the fact that the die-hard Islamists are...

- Ahmadinejad Is 'a Blessing In Disguise' For Iran
This election fiasco was necessary. One day, when we look back at these days, we will all say, "what a blessing in disguise". We will all thank "mad ahmad" for saving ('nejat' as we say in Farsi) Iran. He will focus a definite target for all Iranians....

- Economic Reality, Hitting Islamic Iran's Elections
Iran, like any other country, is not immune from economic realities, no matter what its religion is. Like many good enginners, Ahmadinejad did not know economics. Like a good pistashio trader, Rafsanjani knew just bazaari economics. Both are uneducated...

- Dream On Khamenei - Why No One Will Vote In Iran.
Ali Khamanei thinks that he can scare the people of Iran to vote. What he does not realise is that the people of Iran have been waiting for this moment in their history, to give the clerical establishment a resounding no vote. The people of Iran cannot,...
