It has a diameter of about 185 km. There are prediscovery images back to January of 1991, November of 1989, August of 1982 and July of 1977.
The perihelion is at 24º03' Cancer. It has an inclination of 24.7º, with the ascending node at 29º15' Cancer (trine aspect, 45' orb); whose argument of perihelion is equivalent to 24º48' Pisces (golden aspect, 5º; 12' orb).

Pholus was the keeper of a barrel of wine. He invited Heracles, but --unlike Pholus-- the wine's smell, after the barrel was opened, drove crazy the wild centaurs around. Heracles began shooting at them with the Hydra poisoned arrows and killed them.
Pholus asked him self how a centaur could die by such a small arrow. He pick up the Hydra poisoned arrow, but slip out of his hands to his foot and killed him instantly.
