Reuter's Paul Hughes learns from Khomeini
Isn't it ironical that Reuters still believes what Khomeini said, that Iran was ruled by the U.S.-backed Shah.
With one little phrase like that, over 7000 years of Iranian Kingship heritage is literally discredited. So any country in the world that has the blessing of the United States is wrong I suppose. Paul Hughes knows, or thinks that he knows, that the average reader of his article is probably liberal minded and will accept his sentiment. He is wrong. Maybe it was vogue then in 1979 to say things against His Imperial Majesty then, but now the mullahs in Iran do not have the moral higher ground. Iranian nationalism has well and truely dissociated itself from islamic dogma.
Perhaps in 1979 we would not have had weirdos like Khomeini getting away with comments like that, just like Ahmadinejad cannot get away with the rubbish he saying these days. But the world was very much in awe when Pope John Paul had just become Pope, and the world thought that Khomeini had the higher moral ground.
How times have changed. How wonderful it is to realise that Shah's Iran was not just made by Shah, but the people of Iran who were not religiously fanatic. Up to 1979 Iranian never openly expressed any religious feelings. It was after the religious autocrats came to prepare Iran for their Mahdi that Iran has become the piriah state it has. No one in the world supports the Islamists, but then the whole world including the US supported Iran.

When I Was An Iranian Student
One thing that has stuck with me ever since the saga of 1979 and keeps coming back to haunt me is this so called notion of "Iranian Student". Somehow the world press has a weak spot for "students", and in particular "Iranian students". If we had a "women"...

Desperate Theocrats Resort To Iranian Nationalism With Nuclear Intransigence
To any non moslem Iranian, or to any non fanatical Iranian moslem, it is very obvious, that there can be peaceful use of nuclear energy. The Shahanshah of Iran, made sure Iran would be, a well respected signatory of the Non Proliferation Treaty. Never...

Kissinger's Iran Nuke Alert
Henry Kissinger was paranoid about the late Shah, when Iran was modernizing at the speed of light in the seventies. He and a number of other people in the Middle East were very worried about a strong Iran. They needed someone to help Iran self destruct,...

Post Iran/japan Soccer Match Street Protests In Iran
Iranian students showed their protest in the light of full Moon. It is very interesting to correlate with the Imperial Chart of Iran. The Mercury return and retrograde conciding with the Full Moon was the trigger for many uprisings; especially when Khomeini...
